Kudo Topic: Plant-Based
February 16, 2020
It is easy to throw a LeafSide meal in my bag as I run out of the house in the morning or make a smoothie to have for that afternoon slump when I have to work late into the dinner hour. I love plant-based eating, but I hate all of the prep work. LeafSide has changed my lifestyle for the better!

We tried these two meals today from LeafSide and they were remarkably good. 😋
I was surprised, I didn’t expect them to be as well seasoned (read bold and good flavor). I always add a little chef magic to my food and these required none and I added very little (for those who know it was adding spicy/heat to the Sweet Potato Dal Soup).
These are #wholefoodplantbased dehydrated foods, high in protein and fiber also highlighted by Dr. Greger. As far as pre-made meals go they are quite inexpensive, and lightweight, making them great for travel and hiking (if a source of hot water is available).
This is a fan post and not a paid sponsorship 🙂
Honestly I was floored. I’ve been living on Fire Road since I’m in PhD life right now and wanted to change it up. Also I’ve been avoiding Amy’s bc of the labor ugliness. This is such a happy find!
I am thrilled with the taste, quality and ease of use of these meals! Great for traveling or when you are too tired to cook - I have not found anything at all like this. Now, I can finally have no excuse to stay on my wfpb path! ❤️

I absolutely love LeafSide superfoods! I am on their subscription plan and my second order will arrive next week. I find that for one person, I can get two servings per bag for the Savory and Sweet-Bowls as well as the Soups. Half of a Sweet-Bowl pairs great with a small side of yogurt, or oatmeal. For my Smoothies, I will use the whole bag, but to extend the portion, I add additional almond milk and more ice. I also add to the Smoothie, two tablespoons of protein powder, plus one heaping tablespoon of superfood greens powder.
What I love about LeafSide whole foods is how nutritious they are, plus the wide variety of whole foods in each bag. They are definitely cost-effective because one is not losing money like fresh food rotting in refrigerator, as well as the ability to stay out of grocery stores in the middle of a pandemic. I highly recommend getting a subscription, and it's great that one can customize each order. PLUS, the LeafSide website is very easy to navigate to update forthcoming orders to customize what to receive, skip a shipment, even how many packets you want per order.

Where do I begin? Three summers ago I began my WFPB journey with Purple Carrot (meal box service). I was so overwhelmed by the taste (who knew plants could taste so good? 😃) and knowing how nutritious these meals were and how my body responded, I was hooked! What I didn’t like was all the waste. The box, the ice, every ingredient has its own package; lots of plastic.
By that fall I had read “How Not to Die” and had purchased the cookbook by the same name. Also used “Forks Over Knives” recipes and the app. I batch-cooked most of my meals.
Recently, I had shoulder surgery and knew I would have a difficult time cooking. That’s when I found LeafSide! Truthfully, I didn’t know what to expect because it sounded too good to be true... WFPB and organic all in one convenient package that takes 10 minutes to “make”?!?! Let me just say, I am a believer! They are delicious and a huge help to me. I only wish I had ordered more my first order... but I wanted to “try them” before buying a bunch of something I would end up giving away. Needless to say, I can’t wait to get my second delivery!!
